Hotel Signum - Salina, Italy

Quietly located on Salina Island, in Italy’s volcanic Aeolian archipelago, Hotel Signum is a serene oasis of calm, relaxation and understated elegance. The rooms and suites are charmingly decorated with antique furnishings, deluxe fabrics and one-off designer pieces to provide guests with a high level of comfort and harmony. Outside, a charming open-air spa set amidst lush, fragrant gardens, offers a series of treatments and therapies based on the rich mineral waters found in the area’s natural hot springs. The hotel also boasts a charming Mediterranean restaurant with a lovely terrace overlooking the sea and the islands of Stromboli and Panarea.

2114. Chineasy by Shao Lan Hsueh. Cute drawings to help you remember some easy chinese characters!

I studied Japanese for 3 years and lived in Japan for a year. Learning how to write Kanji was HARD! I actually remember some of these because of how much they look like the real thing. This is AWESOME!!!

Anonymous asked: hello ! should you pay attention to the US State Dept's travel warnings when going certain places? I am finding some really awesome deals for mexico however there is a travel warning for the country. thank u

Hi! Thanks for the question. I like to respect travel warnings, for the most part that is. I rerouted some travel plans in June, because of some travel warnings in a city I was connecting in. Although, a connection is usually short, my 13 hour over night connection made me nervous.

With a country like Mexico, I feel like there will always be a travel warning to certain parst. As long as the warning hasn’t targeted the specific city you’re visiting, I think you should be fine. A lot of the Mexican packages are all inclusive, which means once you’re in the resort you won’t be leaving for anything. Tourism is a major vein of the Mexican economy. The resorts will go out of their way to ensure your safety. If you go, make sure to book a shuttle service to the hotel. Once you’re there, don’t leave the resort for anything.

Now if you just want to travel around Mexico and not stay at a resort, I would not suggest that. Mexico is a wonderful country that I adore. I’ve been twice and had a great time both times. Regardless of your decision take travel warnings into account.

Burger Joint. Lawd. This “hidden” gem in the Le Parker Meridien, is a little tricky to find, if there aren’t 30 people in line waiting to get in. This no frills establishment is tucked behind a long burgundy curtain in an upscale hotel. Burgers are $8-10 and the fries are simple, as they should be. Is it worth the wait?? YES!!! Next time you’re in midtown give this place a visit. Avoid normal eating hours and there wont be a wait :) #foodie #foodporn #burgerjoint #travel #nyc #lovely
