Little Ms Jetsetter...

Living without traveling is not an option for me. I've traveled the globe, 29 countries to be exact, and I've done it all on the CHEAP. I'll be sharing my travel tips and destination reviews. Questions are welcome, rather encouraged! Dont be shy!

Taiwan

My brothers are currently teaching English in Korea. This past weekend they went to Taiwan and they loved it. I’ll be reblogging a bunch of their posts :)

Anonymous asked: Malea said you have info about going to Dominican Republic. I am trying to go some time at the end of the year. If I can make it, I would like to be able to go and see places beyond 'tourist' attractions. Do you have any suggestions about daytrips? places to eat that are not 'tourist-like'? entertainment? i will likely travel alone so safety tips would help as well. thank you :)

Hi! Thanks for asking a question. I recently used a company called Caribe Tours to get around the island. They were professional, affordable, and easy to figure out.  They run buses all around the island. If you speak spanish and have a few contacts out there, travelling alone should be fine, but if you don’t…I would be a little hesitant.  The Dominican Republic is a friendly place, but it’s the kind of place that it’s a lot better to go there with someone who is from there or stay with friends or friends of friends. I’ve never gone there as a traveller. I usually go with my dad and stay with my uncle. I’m going to do some research for you to see if I can find some additional tips. Look into Caribe tours and let me know what you think.

Hands down the best pizza in NYC!!! If you haven’t had it…then you’ve never had the best. I can’t tell the world about my secret, but if you send me a message I’ll reveal where it’s from. Too good to wait in long lines for :)

lovealwayslashon asked: Hey Ms. Jetsetter! love your blog and love reading about your adventures. I have a quick question. I'm traveling to New Orleans for the first time in June for a possible job. I would like to stay a couple of extra days to explore the city. My questions are: What hotel would you recommend? Which airline do you prefer flying with? Any suggestions on what I should do, explore while I'm in the city?

HI!!! Thank you for reading and for loving my adventures. I truly enjoy sharing them so it means the world to me that you’re reading. So, sorry for the delay…my schedule has been crazy and sad. I went to New Orleans once and all I remember is how AMAZING the food is!!! Please promise met hat you’ll eat enough for the both of us. Cajun calamari, beignets, and shrimp po boys get honorable mentions.

Hotel…hmmm I’d recommend you stay near the french quarter…the southern charm will instantly put a smile on your face. I stayed out of the city, because I was there during mardi gras and everything was ridiculously expensive. If your budget allows for it, french quarter all the way.

Airline…I’m a Delta girl. I fly them whenever  I can because I have frequent flyer miles with them. If you get frequent flyer miles I recommend you go with that carrier. If not, go to www.kayak.com and choose the cheapest flight. The more you save the more you can shop in New Orleans.

You have to visit burbon street at night…lots of bars and restaurants. I also recommend you visit Cafe dumont and have their world famous beignets…fried dough sprinkled with powdered sugar…beyond amazing!!!

I’m going to ask some friends who are from there if they have any additional suggestions. I hope that helps :).

I don’t know how many people have done this but I was asked by this young man and his teacher to give him an “English” name. I didn’t think about the significance about naming a random kid. But its more than likely that this kid will carry his name for the rest of his life. That goodness I don’t have kids myself, not an easy decision. If I was a celebrity I would have went with smartphone or cranberry sauce but since I’m not I went with Jake. I think it matches his persona. Hope it works wonders for you.

LOL!!! Jake!?! He looks more like a Samuel. You should have given him a Latino name. Mateo would have been cool, or Chase?
